Reflection on Orientation Module
In the orientation module, I learn to use canvas, avoid plagiarism, getting certificates and badges, important instructions about quizze , and getting help during courses.
Reflection on Module One
I become introduced to media, media, messages, social media, etc. I also learn to understand media messages and separate facts from fiction when reading them. I also learn some reading skills to decide: should I read this stuff or not?
Reflection on Module Two
I learn about the evolution of media, social media, its power, reliability, its positive and negative impacts, and the use of different comparative adjectives appropriately.
Reflection on Module Three
I learn about advertising, its evolution, and learn to analyze different adds. I also listen to an interview with an expert. I also learn to order different adjectives in a sentence. I also get some knowledge about the ethics of using social media and different social platforms. I learn to use normal and strong adjectives and correct use of intensifiers in this context.
Reflection on Module Four
I learn about bias in media, its different types, how to overcome it, the importance of the source of a media message, uses of modal verbs in different conditions, and many other topics like connotation, denotation, bias by spin etc.
Reflection on Module Five
I learn about diversity in media and its importance, representation of different cultural, ethnic, religious, gender and minorities in media and its impact on identity formation, correct use of negatives and transitions, women in media and issues like sensationalism, etc
